Method - I have the students seated in pairs at a computer with a copy
of this procedure. I then work through the printout step by step introducing the
interface and explaining the steps involved. Once finished, the students then
work together on another digital photograph to get it ready for a blog. Next I
get these procedures glued into a book and the students work on their own digital
photographs. Tips
& Tricks: Get
the students to store the procedure in a book or folder Don't
let students back into the computer room unless they have the procedure with them
- stored appropriately ;) Remind
them that procedural texts are read one step at a time IN ORDER :) Get
them to open the procedure and work through it rather than whining that they don't
know what to do ;) Verbally
praise those students who have organised their procedures and are working through
the task step by step Artworks

Getting
An Image Ready For A Blog
(What's in the
Print Out) NB
You must own the academic property and copyright to any images you place on our
blog! 1.
Place the photographs you need into a network folder that you can access :)
2.
Start Paint.NET
3. Open your photograph - File / Open / find your image.
4.
Use the 'Rectangle Select' tool to select the area of the photo you require.
5.
Crop Image - Image / Crop to Selection
6. Manipulate the photograph to suite
your purpose i.e.
Colour Correction or Enhancement -Experiment
with these tools - Adjustments / (auto-level, Black and White, Brightness and
Contrast, Curves, Hue and Saturation, Invert Colours, Levels or Sepia
Artistic Expression -
Experiment with the tools above AND the effects section. Always Avoid Clichés!
7.
Resize the image - Image / Resize / width = 250 pixels to 400 pixels 8.
Save Image for the Internet - File / Save As / JPEG / Rename something short and
identifiable / Save / Move slider so file is between 10 and 20K / OK |
